RYDE SIXTH FORM ART STUDENTS ENJOY PARIS
Twenty four Sixth Form Art students went to Paris for a long weekend. Spending four days in this world-renowned artistic city, they took in all the sights to help their thought process for their recently issued exam paper. The first full day of art exploration included a visit to Les Arts Decoratif, followed by a trip to the architecturally impressive Pompidou Centre. They stopped for some lunch on the Parisian streets and then ended the day with a visit to Musée Rodin where students took the opportunity to fill their sketchbooks with observations of the sculptures and artwork surrounding them.
On Saturday they visited two of the larger galleries, Musée D'Orsay and The Louvre with the opportunity to take lots of photos and complete wonderful sketches to inspire individual themes. Sunday allowed them to take in the sights of the Sacre Coeur before flying home. A wonderful way to end the trip watching artists in the square, one of our students even had their portrait drawn.
“Students were a credit to the school, showing great respect to those around them by being polite and courteous at all times. We were very proud” Head of Art, Natalie Broughton.
