A big welcome to the Senior School at Ryde. Throughout the School we benefit from excellent facilities and inspired teaching and we offer a curriculum that ensures all pupils enjoy an education that is broad and rigorous and aims to maximise individual success for all our students.

As Head of the Senior School I am justifiably proud of our examination results and university destinations, but these are by no means the only measure of our success; our purpose is to help our pupils grow as independent, confident individuals with ambition and purpose and the well-rounded education your child receives at Ryde ensures resilience, confidence and a desire to learn.

Whether you are interested in your child joining us as a day pupil in the Senior School at age 11 or 13 or for the Sixth Form or indeed as a flexi, weekly or full-time boarder, I firmly believe seeing the School will give you the best opportunity to experience what we offer and I look forward to welcoming you for a visit.

Learning & Academics in the Senior School

Our broad, enriching and inclusive curriculum encourages our pupils to develop the skills, character, and knowledge necessary for an ambitious, virtuous, and purposeful future.

In Years 7, 8 & 9 the Ryde Global & Pre Senior Baccalaureate programme ensures our pupils are well equipped to enjoy making subject choices in Year 9 to specialise in at GCSE. GCSE and IGCSE courses start at the beginning of Year 10. At all stages along this pathway we stretch pupils academically whilst offering a strong level of individual support.

Senior Sports

Sports and the outdoors play a big part in Ryde School life.

Most of our sports training takes place on the main school site where we have a cricket square, sports hall and pavilion, rugby and hockey pitches, tennis and netball courts, small Astro and a Strength & Conditioning facility.

In addition to the excellent academic, creative arts and sporting activities, the location of our school enables us to provide an exciting, adventurous and diverse array of extra-curricular activities that all pupils are encouraged to participate in.
