We encourage all our pupils to fully participate in activities beyond the classroom. Regardless of ability, all children aim to reach their potential and benefit hugely from the team spirit and a sense of achievement that our opportunities offer.

The facilities for pupils in Pre-Prep are of an excellent standard plus many activities make use of the Senior School facilities which extends our options and ensures a familiarity with the wider school that helps with transitions between school sections later in school life. The whole Island is our playground and we make full use of it for rambles, beach days, and trips to places of specific interest. The school grounds offer interesting outdoor areas for science and nature lessons including a beautiful Victorian greenhouse, copse and rambling areas. Pre-Prep children enjoy learning and exploring in the woodland den and helping with the bee hives, fully clothed in school beekeeper outfits. Music and drama is a big part of being at Ryde and from a very early age children are encouraged to take part. We offer music lessons and opportunities for plays, musicals, and drama lessons and clubs.

Once registered at Ryde you will be given options to sign up your child for the activities you want (please note minimum and maximum numbers do sometimes apply and whilst we aim to ensure as many as possible are offered within the school fees, sometimes a small additional charge may apply).
