Ryde School is a co-educational independent day and boarding school for children aged 2 -18 years old. We are currently looking to appoint a Graduate Sports Assistant to support in the delivery of games sessions and sporting fixtures.
As a member of the Sports department, and with guidance from the Director of Sport, you will be part of a team of PE Teachers and professional sports coaches that collectively lead games and training sessions for a variety of age groups across the Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior Schools, with a focus on the core sports of Rugby and Hockey in the Autumn term, Netball and Hockey in the Spring term, and Cricket and Athletics in the Summer term.
Our purpose is to provide an exceptional education on the Isle of Wight, enabling our boarding and day pupils to flourish in mind, body and soul. We nurture pupils to make a positive difference and embrace the opportunities of the wider world.

Graduate Sports Assistant Job Description
The ideal candidate will:
- Have some sports coaching experience in at least two of our core sports with experience of coaching or playing netball being highly desirable.
- Be First Aid trained.
- Possess good IT skills to complete the administrative duties associated with the job.
- Be approachable and friendly.
- Always remain calm, even when under pressure.
- Adapt to the needs of the job as and when they arise with a flexible attitude.
This role is offered on a full time, term time basis with flexibility needed to accommodate working hours that may involve early mornings and evenings, or Saturday working to support sporting fixtures. Accommodation may be available.

We are currently looking to appoint a Boarding House Day Assistant to provide an efficient and compassionate service to all boarding pupils in our care, providing them with daily guidance and ensuring that their health, hygiene and wellbeing needs are met.
Our purpose is to provide an exceptional education on the Isle of Wight, enabling our boarding and day pupils to flourish in mind, body and soul. We nurture pupils to make a positive difference and embrace the opportunities of the wider world.
In this role you will report to the Housemasters and will assist with the smooth running of the daily routines at both Centenary House and Millfield House. You will be a welcoming presence to all the pupils and provide vital support as part of a wider pastoral team dedicated to creating a supportive and caring environment.
Routine tasks such as laundry and organisation of supplies and deliveries to each of the Houses will be a key component of the job, as will ensuring that pupil rooms and overall house tidiness is maintained. Full responsibilities are detailed in the job description.
Boarding House Day Assistant Job Description
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a valid childcare qualification.
- Have a proven track record in a similar role within a boarding environment.
- Have a valid UK driving licence.

This role is offered on a full time, term time basis with core hours of work being Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 16:30pm. The nature of the job will require that some additional days are worked during the school holidays in preparation for boarders returning, this will be discussed further at interview.

PART-TIME, PERMANENT
Monday to Friday, Immediate Start
The School is currently looking to add to our Domestic Team of cleaners that operate outside of the hours of our normal school day. We have a requirement for 20 hours cleaning per week to be fulfilled on a Monday to Friday basis which could either be 4 hours every evening between the hours of 17:00 - 22:00 pm.
The cleaning roles at Ryde School typically suit self-motivated individuals with a keen eye for detail, who enjoy working both alone and within a team and are able to work with minimum supervision when the situation requires. We have a wide range of buildings and facilities which are cleaned to a high standard by our domestic team. As part of this dedicated cleaning team, you will take great pride in your work and strive to maintain these standards in all areas. Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided. COSHH and manual handling knowledge is desirable for this role, but full on-site training will be given.

Part time, Term time (Job Share considered)
Do you enjoy working outdoors, meeting lots of people and feeling like a part of a community? Ryde School is actively looking for someone to join us in the role of School Crossing Patroller to provide a valuable service to our pupils assisting them to cross the road safely as they go to and from school.
You will work from a designated crossing site, standing for long periods and holding the ‘lollipop’ pole in all weather conditions. As you would expect, this job will expose you to traffic noise and fumes, and you will be required to carry out procedures for safely stopping vehicles, using your judgement to assess the stopping times of traffic in differing weather conditions.
You will be someone that we can rely upon to maintain control over children and pedestrians who will await your instructions to cross the road safely. You will be confident, calm under pressure, and approachable as you quickly become a familiar face to parents and all members of our school community.
There are no specific qualifications required for this role, but the ideal candidate will be a good communicator who is able to follow written instructions and procedures, and record incident information as and when necessary. A good understanding of relevant sections of the highway code would also be advantageous. The successful candidate will enjoy being of service to others and will be offered daily term-time work with regular pay for twelve months of the year.
