Finalists in the BSA Support Excellence Awards

How exciting! We're one of three finalists for the Boarding Schools' Association Supporting Excellence Awards in the category of boarding house extension / refurbishment.

The entry covers both Millfield and Centenary: 

Millfield, with a restoration award from the Isle of Wight Historical Society, is our beautifully renovated listed Victorian villa and home to our junior boarders. A fun, family house with light airy bedrooms, mostly en-suite, it makes the best use of the original rooms and sea and garden views, even hosting a grand piano in the long room for music practice. 

Centenary is our purpose-built contemporary building designed for more independent living for our senior students. The winner of the CPRE Merlin Award for Good Lighting (due to external reduced light spill to stop disturbance to the flight paths of bats in the evenings),  the building has created accommodation for over 60 boarders with stunning sea views, roof terraces, many communal areas, a ‘cooks’ kitchen and many community recreational solutions.

We are very proud of all the staff and pupils that have made this move from our old boarding houses in Bembridge such a seamless move and excited about the growth of boarding over the next 100 years in Ryde.
