Gold D of E Students enjoy trip to Lake District
DofE Sixth Form

The Gold DofE group had a fantastic five day trip to the Lake District for their training expedition.

They were lucky to see the Lakes at their most stunning with mainly dry and sunny but extremely cold weather throughout the trip. Temperatures were below zero overnight, the team even had the novelty of seeing snow. The groups faced long routes with lots of climbing including three of England's 3000ft peaks of Helvellyn, Fairfield and High Street. The students showed great grit and determination as well as demonstrating the huge progress they have made with campcraft, navigation and teamwork.

The whole group should be very proud of what they achieved in some very challenging, wintry conditions and are now well prepared for their qualifying expedition to Snowdonia in July.
